The Walking Dead Season 8 Official Comic-Con Trailer

The Walking Dead Season 8 Official Comic-Con Trailer

The Walking Dead Season 8 Official Comic-Con Trailer. It’s here! The new Comic-Con trailer for The Walking Dead Season 8 and man is it loaded with TONS of teasers & juicy bits for the upcoming season. Now this next season is the big WAR vs Negan, the Saviors & the Junkyard Hipsters but at times during this trailer, you wouldn’t guess that’s the case. Sure there’s lots of loading up on weapons, gearing up, fights, explosions and WALKERS! Yes, it looks like WALKERS are back to being a threat again. Perhaps Rick has realized that maybe just him & his crew are the best of the best Walker killers and Negan & his Saviors aren’t so why not use the Walkers as a weapon?

Of course, it’s The Walking Dead so it wouldn’t be the same without a inspirational speech from Rick. Darryl doing Darryl-like traps & plans and I have to agree that Negan seems lost in all of the trailer which I’m hoping is a good thing. Perhaps less is MORE from Negan moving forward.

Also that trailer ENDING… is it the big rumored time-jump where Rick awakens years later all wounded from the war? Guess we’ll find out next May!

You can see this and more on the AMC YouTube page here:

New BLADE RUNNER 2049 trailer

BLADE RUNNER 2049 – Trailer 2

BLADE RUNNER 2049 – Trailer 2. Check out the new BLADE RUNNER 2049 Trailer which gives LOTS of plot teasers & perhaps a spoiler or three. Lots of great new scenes with both Ryan Gosling’s Officer K and Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard. Thirty years after the first Blade Runner, the Los Angeles of 2049 or what remains of LA looks like both a new mashup of Cyberpunk and a post-apocalyptic world. Looks like Ryan Gosling’s Officer K is tasked to find Harrison Ford’s Deckard in some great revelation about the future of both mankind and replicants. Besides Gosling & Ford, the movie has a star studded line-up including Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto.

I’m kinda looking forward to this but I didn’t see this movie in the theatres as it came and went before I heard about it. It was THE most anticipated movie to hit VHS to rent, I think, EVER!

Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on October 6, 2017.

Spider-Man: Homecoming – BtS Review

Spider-Man: Homecoming – BtS Review. So I went & saw Spider-Man: Homecoming and I’m gonna give you something I don’t often do. I’m gonna write a SHORT review. Here’s my tweet review as such:

Now let me quickly summarize exactly what I mean. The new Spider-Man movie keeps the Peter Parker we know as a growing high school kid who has his Spidey powers and was swinging around and doing small time rescues & saves then gets pulled into the big Avengers vs Captain America fight from Captain America: Civil War movie then quickly thrown back home to go about his life.

Ned and Peter get technical. Image: Sony

Of course Peter going back to just being a kid doesn’t happen as he/we expect as it’s mixed with Peter being Spidey. Now why was the movie like a John Hughes movie? Easy. It’s about a kid growing up and learning about himself exactly like any John Hughes movie. The movie even TELLS you as such when Peter as Spidey is racing through a suburban neighborhood while someone is watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Peter has to juggle being a kid and being Spider-Man. It’s brilliant, it’s touching and it’s got the appropriate amount of teen angst.

“With great power comes greater responsibility!”. This theme echoes through the entire movie

Michael Keaton as Toomes. Image: Sony

Next. Why do I feel this Spider-Man is like Jon Favreau’s Iron Man when we actually DO NOT get an origin story? Simple. It’s about the changing and growth of the hero we know and love in Spider-Man himself which is why the comparison to the 1st Iron Man movie holds weight. Both movies have strong actors as both our heroes and villains. To show that Spider-Man: Homecoming has a STRONG villain, the movie bookends with Michael Keaton as Toomes aka The Vulture because he CAN pull it off. Not since Alfred Molina as Dr. Otto Octavius has a Spider-Man movie had such a brilliant actor pull of such an enjoyable villain. A LARGE part of me wanted The Vulture to succeed and THAT means the movie works on SO MANY LEVELS! Oh and FINALLY we have Marvel listening and NOT killing their big villains (although that often has more to do with actors contracts vs anything else in super hero movies). Michael Keaton is a joy to watch.

Lastly add in the fact that Tony Stark & Iron Man basically replace Old Ben from all the Spidey movies we’ve seen (one of MANY changes to this new era of Spidey movies) as the mentor & father figure for Peter Parker. This also works as both the focal point of the John Hughes angst and Jon Favreau’s Iron Man movie fatherly legacy shadow that Tony desperately wants to flee from. Both the factors climax and funny enough, arrogant Tony Stark even takes credit for it which is… well, SO Tony Stark.

The movie has LOTS of wonderful scenes for both those who love Spider-Man, comic book fandom and the general audiences. That said both Ned and Happy Hogan stand out as my favourite characters along with Aunt May & the AI in Spider-Man’s new suit named Karen. Oh and the drops of Damage Control & Captain America public service announcements are hilarious!

Overall Spider-Man: Homecoming has one elegant & beautiful theme. Unwritten and unspoken theme of the whole movie explains the legendary saying that’s dying Old Ben always tells Peter Parker, “With great power comes greater responsibility!”. This theme echoes through the entire movie and even more so with Peter’s decision near the movies end.

If you’ve enjoyed ANY of the Marvel Comics movies and Spider-Man’s minor appearance in Captain America: Civil War, just go see the new movie. If you want to see a great, gun movie then give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Oh and the best call back to the first of the Marvel Universe movie Iron Man almost ends on the same type of scene of “I am Iron Man!”

Go see & tell me I’m wrong! Trust me, you won’t.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theatres now. Go & enjoy! 🙂

Marvel’s Inhumans – Official Trailer

Marvel's Inhumans - Official Trailer

Marvel’s Inhumans – Official Trailer. So Marvel’s Inhumans trailer has finally hit the Interwebz & after watching it, the ONLY thing I like is seeing the CGI Lockjaw. The rest, the tone and the pacing of the new Marvel’s Inhumans trailer seems SO OFF. It’s like I was WAITING to get that hook, that feeling of “OH YEAH, here we GO!” but it never came. Sure, when Lockjaw appears to grab Black Bolt (Blackagar Boltagon played by Anson Mount) teleport & escape to Earth was cool but just NOT the same or enough for me to sink my enjoyment into the trailer. To be EXCITED about the upcoming show. If anything, it feels like a pale version of Agents of SHIELD which would be VERY bad for this show. VERY BAD. Marvel’s Inhumans needs to have the Netflix BUZZ & Feel not that of Agents of SHIELD. One thing that the trailer did do well is show the Inhumans Royal Family consisting of Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Auran, Maximus the Mad and leading up to a big civil uprising lead by Maximus the Mad to take the Earth.

I do have my fingers crossed for this 8-episode live-action television series. Will I go see it in a theatre in IMAX? Hmmm… yeah, I don’t know.

Marvel’s Inhumans is scheduled to premiere in September 2017 on ABC.
The first 2 episodes are screened in IMAX theaters beginning September 1, 2017.
