Well I’ve met to post this for a while now but it’s pretty bloody obvious that this blog is on a hiatus now.
This blog has a history that was tied to a certain comic book store in Vancouver, Canada (You know, where the 2010 Winter Olympics were) called ELFSAR COLLECTION COMICS & TOYS. Sadly Elfsar had to close down in May so in many ways, it’s closing has also put the final nail into the coffin of this blog. If I had ANY thought of returning and sparking this sucker up, it’s all gone now. Elfsar was the spark that had me start REALLY bad reviews over on Happy Harbor Comics website. That went on for a while until I thought, why not just start my own blog doing the same thing and ranting about whatever else I wanted. So I did and BtS was born. It went through many looks & feel until finding the latest incarnation. Now don’t get me wrong, I do miss it at times but overall I think running this blog took a great deal out of me in ways I haven’t still realized. I managed this blog almost as much or more than working 8 hours a day and that got to be too much in general. That and I feel my appreciation for comic books lately has been at an all time low so I have little to talk about.
I know many friends I know wished I kept the blog up and running but never truly understood it was like feeding a forever hungry zombie… and I FUCKING HATE Zombies!
So for now the blog is again on a Hiatus. If you feel the fucked up strange need to listen to my rambles, you can catch me on Twitter here:

I’m not closing up shop as I like the digital footprint this leaves so feel free to browse and lick the carpet, you might find something you like. That said, I’m closing the comments now for the entire site and all older posts.

So I have mentioned this for a while now but now I will make a blog post about it. I am now in Seattle and going to the Emerald City Comic Con this weekend. I will try my best to do some blogging on Sat night / Sunday about the Con with some photos I can take or remember to take (likely cellphone pics as I don’t plan to stumble around w/ my camera — then again, I just might). I do plan on attending the DC Nation and Mondo Marvel panels along with going to various other panels and whatever else is going on.
As mentioned I took the weekend off from ‘puters. Lots of stuff from Chicago so you can hunt and peck to find what you’re interested in reading, some of the highlights:
As Zeek mentioned earlier this weekend, Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch bullshit everyone and in fact are doing Fantastic Four as I had thought.
DC bringing back Ra’s al Ghul!
Captain America is being teased with a return (of course!) and Alex Ross is involved.
Countdown: Arena is being put out where various “Elseworld” characters come together and fight. Sounds like a bad idea for a 1980’s video game.
Warren Ellis doing Ultimate Hulk / Iron Man 6 issue mini-series. Seriously who doesn’t think this will be a 6 issue romp of who has the bigger / plated dick?
WildStorm (The DC Imprint) doesn’t know what else to do until Authority and WildC.A.T.s are back so they will do with the Armageddon cross-over through all the WildStorm Universe titles – Midnighter: Armageddon,” “Tranquility: Armageddon,” “Wetworks: Armageddon,” “Gen 13: Armageddon,” “Stormwatch PHD: Armageddon” and “Wildcats: Armageddon” ALSO fill the stands with “Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash.”
Best news is Dustin Nguyen will be drawing Detective Comics early in 2008.

Okay I cry bullshit on this but I guess if I Wizard World was every in Vancouver… wait.. *LAUGHS* … right where was I, oh yeah if WW was here and they were doing this for the sneak peak at the Avengers movie and I was attending, I guess I would be happy…
From the WWC: DC Nations panel (Source: Comic Book Resources):
DC Comics announced Friday at Wizard World Chicago that they will be screening a sneak peak of the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight,†amid tight security Saturday night. “Leave your cell phones, your camcorders and your iPods at home,†said Bob Wayne, DC’s Vice President of Sales. The screening will only be for fans in Chicago, so there will be no electronic devices allowed in the room. Utilizing a trick Batman would be proud of, there will be security present with night vision goggles to detect any recording devices at the screening. “We want it to be special for the people in the room, not for 2 million people on YouTube,†Wayne said. “And then you can also tell people, ‘Oh, you missed it, they showed the whole movie in 15 minutes! I can’t believe that Superman showed up…’â€

Well I hope someone sneaks a shot of this and puts it up on YouTube just to piss off DC and yet please the other 2 million plus DC fans. I am sure they will, this is a good way to have us geeks doing hunting online for any sneak peak.
From Wizard World Chicago ‘07
Yes, yes and more yes! Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars) doing Cage! a new four issue mini-series and puts Luke Cage at the center of ’70s-style butt-kicking action!

Well that would be much more interesting than what is upcoming for the X-Men.
From the Wizard Wold Chicago X-Men panel comes things like this:
Cebulski said that while the X-Men were always considered a family, they will now be looked at as an army.
Quesada said Messiah Complex will be very “mutant on mutant” as the X-Men deal with problems “within the family.”
*yawn* I wish it really was Mutant on Mutant but of a different variety!
Really if you want to read more and really hope that the X-Men become something worth picking up (Source: Comics Continuum):
