Marvel Apes?! That’s the biggest news outta NYCC ‘08?!

Marvel Apes?! That’s the biggest news outta NYCC ‘08?!

So what is the big news of NYCC ‘08? Is it all the spotlight and attention Grant Morrison was getting over Final Crisis? Sell the ego and not the book? Was it the various trickle down news on many smaller books like Secret Invasion: Clor? I mean Thor? Was it Vertigo saying that is plans to go out there and get new graphic novel work? Viz Comics also going for new work? Or was the overall Con shadowed by what Luthor claimed in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon as, “THIS! This is your great plan? Turning everyone into Gorillas?” with MARVEL APES?!I think the best was the entire Venture Bros news but seriously like wow. Either this con was all about nothing or I really missed the point. I hope Emerald Con in Seattle is better, least I am going to that one.

I wanted to follow this more over the weekend but when I did hobble over to the ‘puter and noticed how lame the news was, I did anything else.

New York Comic Con ‘08

New York Comic Con ‘08

This weekend is the big New York Comic Con and I will try to post all the big news here over the weekend. You can watch this on either Newsarama or Comic Book Resources as both seem to be facing off on “who has the better coverage”. I think Newsarama may be taking it up a notch with the recent Dan Didio video interviews (although they are pretty so-so, nothing special, I would love to see some off-the-wall interviews, complete fun interview) but have a look yourself…

Oh and I will be upgrading my blog this weekend so if you notice something a touch strange just refresh and hopefully it will all fix itself.
