A great special effects person who is now gone, I wonder how movies will look for the next while without his vision! More…

So looks like Marvel wants to cash in on the fame of Iron Man and have now leaked some of the scenes with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in a new TV Ad for The Incredible Hulk movie that opens this Friday! I just wish they didn’t show this and left it as a great small scene in the movie. Lame.

So I went to see Iron Man before I became a gimp this weekend and I loved it. As many have said, “best comic book to movie” that Marvel Comics has done since the Spider-Man movie. Robert Downey Jr. was Tony Stark / Iron Man to a tee. Sure he is not the current Tony Stark but neither was Tobey Maguire the current Peter Parker / Spider-Man but a good one none the less. If you have the money and time, go check it out as you will not be disappointed. Jon Favreau and the entire cast did a great job in this movie!
I am glad to hear that the studio is already talking about a sequel and the big surprise extra after the credits (hi-lite for spoilers) Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury talking The Avengers Initiative just fueled and will spark more conversations for the next while which is just perfect. I think that Iron Man will hold strong against the big summer blockbusters including The Dark Knight and the newest Indy movie.

Hey don’t just take my two bits on the film, it looks like even Zen Lego Iron Man enjoyed it. Panels of Awesome also did a great review (more in-depth than mine) here:

Also big news that hit the ‘net today is that the extra special scene after the credits was written by Brian Bendis, you can read more about it here on Rich Johnston’s Lying in the Gutters on CBR:

Oh and did anyone catch that the “hot rod” that Stark was working on looked so much like Johnny Storm (the Human Torch from The Fantastic Four) old Hot Rod he had way back when in the comics? Snagged from the Marvel Directory on Human Torch / Johnny Storm (http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/h/humantorchii.htm):
Storm developed an interest in automobiles at an early age. Storm passed much of his leisure time in the company of automobile mechanics and enthusiasts, and learned to totally overhaul a car’s transmission before he was fifteen years old. For his sixteenth birthday, his father bought him his first “hot rod.”
