Invincible: The Series trailer

Now this is how you make a comic book like Invincible come to life on the ‘net and downloadable via iTunes, MTV and other such things. I am sure TONS of work went into making this work out properly, the idea of putting music, voice and then the animation to make a comic book come to life but still look like a comic book is amazing. I am completely floored by this and look forward to the series. Great work on Robert Kirkman’s great comic!

Best Bang Reborn #4

It is a crazy day but last night, after seeing Hellboy II, I got home late and read all my comics so I could get the Best Bang Reborn #4: Comics for July 9th out for today! From Final Crisis: Requiem for Martian Manhunter to Nick Fury coming out in Secret Invasion #4 over to Trinity!

Again I picked up my stuff from Hourglass Comics out in Port Moody.

Best Bang Reborn #3: July 4th & June 25th, 2008

This week is a mash-up in this week’s Best Bang to include last week’s Canada Day books! From Warren Ellis pissing me off on Astonishing X-Men to Batman R.I.P to Angel making me shake my head, we have lots here. Included is last weeks Final Cri$i$ making me realize that I hate it when people try to show me how smart they are in comics, The (red) Hulk mystery continues and Mark Millar’s Fantastic Four keeps frustrating me. Since I have not gone to the island of Vancouver lately, these books come to you from Port Moody’s Hourglass Comics.

Oh and Happy Independence Day yeah bunch of colonists down south! :P

Best Bang Reborn #2: June 18th Comics

Here I was thinking this was just going to be an average week of comics but nope — this was a great week of comics, stories and trades from Bomb Queen to Guardians of the Galaxy to Justice League of America. Yays for this week go to Guardians of the Galaxy while Angel gets a Nah from me as it built up to a disappointing wrap up issue.

As I was too sick to come out last week, I barely got out to Port Moody’s Hourglass Comics to get my stuff. I also feel bad that I missed the Comic Book Round Table for a second week in a row. Next week! Next week!

Enough DiDio! HeroesCon 2008 news (rip on Teen Titans: Family Lost trade cover)

yes this is a rip on Teen Titans: Family Lost trade cover (I don’t think it ever got used though)

Many may know I ♥ DC Comics and even though last week I was kinda peeked by some ‘net rumors of Dan Didio leaving, the more I thought about it — the less I cared or wanted that to happen. So during the weekend I was looking at some of the news outta Heroes Con 2008 this past weekend. The Dan Didio leaving DC seemed to be the big news and man, I stopped caring. I am sure this is going to sound like I am I am supporting Dan Didio but all I am supporting that the idea that this rumor mongering is going outside “fan talk” into “Dan Didio Must Die!” sh**t again and man that gets bothersome to read.

It just seems as though right now everyone is after Didio’s head when it wasn’t long ago Queseda’s head was on the plate for ONE MORE DAY. Relax people. Breathe for f*** sakes!

If you want to check out some of the HeroesCon 2008 news here yah go…

X-Men Manifest Destiny Panel - The collaboration of Fraction & Brubaker is almost enough to make the X-Books interesting… almost…

DC Sunday Conversation - Forget the Didio rumors and think back to what you enjoy about comic books!

Least Bang for April 16th Comics

April 21st, 2008 rjp Posted in Best Bang, Comic Books, DC Comics, Image Comics, Marvel Comics No Comments »

Least Bang for Aug 16th Comics

Even a broken foot could not stop me from doing Between the Staples Best Bang… wait a sec… lets change things up a bit for this week. No Best Bang, lets do the Least Bang for your Comic Buck for the week of April 16th! This week Countdown to Final Crisis continues its horror show and Salvation Run drops to one of the worst of the week. X-Men: Divided We Stand has only one saving grace while The Dresden Files shows that you need to reading the books to know what the hell is going on, not great for a first issue. So Jimmy Olsen won’t die yet Darkseid does so their heads are the ranking from worst to best this week!

Most of this weeks comics came from Elfsar Comics & Toys where I kept the guys from working with my comic chat then I filled in the blanks at Hourglass Comics out in Port Moody.
