Is the upcoming rumored Apple tablet the future of comic books? Will this be the death of your local comic store in the coming years going from being just a comic book store to becoming a GEEKS-R-US store with everything plus maybe some of the limited printed versions of some digital comics. More on this maybe every Wednesday morning the new comics will published new on iTunes & productivity drops at those times. Could that be the future of comic books?
Sure that it far fetched and not everyone is going to have a new Apple tablet to view their digital comics on but doesn’t almost everyone have a computer / laptop these days & running some version of iTunes? How much of a stretch is this considering the costs involved in printing comic books over digital publication.
I do not see this happening overnight but I would imagine in a few years, the comic book industry will change a great deal and more towards a digital media. Look at the big MarvelFest event today in New York for the launch of the Astonishing X-Men motion comic (likely will come out in a zillion months for us up here in Canada — LAME!) so why not feel that the comic biz is changing.
Shit, I wonder how comic book conventions would be if most of the comic books came out online?! Would fans still travel to San Diego Comic-Con to get digital signatures on their latest download of their favorite motion comic.

Hey all. Here we go – Best Bang Reborn for a few more weeks so much like Jean Grey coming back to the Marvel Universe, this too will go the “Dead is dead” world (where, much like the comic book universes, it can just crawl back to life one day) but until then lets look at 2 weeks worth of comics from November 26th and December 3rd! Such sh*t stuff like Secret Invasion, Batman RIP and The Umbrella Academy came out (okay UA ain’t sh*t).
This week I got my addiction from Hourglass Comics & Toys out here in the ‘burbs of Port Moody, British Columbia Canada. Many images are courtesy Comic Books Beta and unfortunately no additional images for the book this week so its just all plain text blog post. I know, how boring but I like to think… how retro!

It has been crazy busy for me of late. Here is the ASTONISHING Best Bang Reborn #15 which includes 3 WEEKS of bite sized comic book reviews. These are a mix of books from Hourglass Comics and Elfsar Comics & Toys! Thanks to Chris Nolan’s Comic Books Beta for artwork and info, you can find that here:
http://apps.facebook.com/comicbooks/
Only a few books are good enough to get more than a 3 leafs which are Secret Six #3, Justice Society of America #20, Nova #18, The Incredible Hercules #122 and Star Wars: Legacy #29! The majority of the comics are just okay or sub-par of what I expect like almost all the Final Crisis books!

This week is a mash-up in this week’s Best Bang to include last week’s Canada Day books! From Warren Ellis pissing me off on Astonishing X-Men to Batman R.I.P to Angel making me shake my head, we have lots here. Included is last weeks Final Cri$i$ making me realize that I hate it when people try to show me how smart they are in comics, The (red) Hulk mystery continues and Mark Millar’s Fantastic Four keeps frustrating me. Since I have not gone to the island of Vancouver lately, these books come to you from Port Moody’s Hourglass Comics.
Oh and Happy Independence Day yeah bunch of colonists down south!

Welcome to another Best Bang. This time not written by a Skrull hacker but by yours truly. I am pretty bummed out that the Vancouver Canucks could not get into the playoffs for this year. So yeah, here are my Best Bang for the week of April 2nd. Given that Xander “Call Me Nick Fury” becomes Dracula’s manservant again (in the latest issue of Buffy) is why I am using his head as ranking. As always from top to bottom.
This weeks books are from Port Moody’s own Hourglass Comics.

Another week of Best Bang for comics that came out on March 5th! Scalped #15, The Twelve #3, Buffy #12 and Terry Moore’s Echo #1 are the best books for the week! Since Cable #1 was worse than Countdown (gawds knows how that is possible), I am using Nathan’s head for ranking, as always from Best to Worst. All books reviewed were bought at Hourglass Comics out in Port Moody of British Columbia, Canada!
