Well I’ve met to post this for a while now but it’s pretty bloody obvious that this blog is on a hiatus now.
This blog has a history that was tied to a certain comic book store in Vancouver, Canada (You know, where the 2010 Winter Olympics were) called ELFSAR COLLECTION COMICS & TOYS. Sadly Elfsar had to close down in May so in many ways, it’s closing has also put the final nail into the coffin of this blog. If I had ANY thought of returning and sparking this sucker up, it’s all gone now. Elfsar was the spark that had me start REALLY bad reviews over on Happy Harbor Comics website. That went on for a while until I thought, why not just start my own blog doing the same thing and ranting about whatever else I wanted. So I did and BtS was born. It went through many looks & feel until finding the latest incarnation. Now don’t get me wrong, I do miss it at times but overall I think running this blog took a great deal out of me in ways I haven’t still realized. I managed this blog almost as much or more than working 8 hours a day and that got to be too much in general. That and I feel my appreciation for comic books lately has been at an all time low so I have little to talk about.
I know many friends I know wished I kept the blog up and running but never truly understood it was like feeding a forever hungry zombie… and I FUCKING HATE Zombies!
So for now the blog is again on a Hiatus. If you feel the fucked up strange need to listen to my rambles, you can catch me on Twitter here:

I’m not closing up shop as I like the digital footprint this leaves so feel free to browse and lick the carpet, you might find something you like. That said, I’m closing the comments now for the entire site and all older posts.

Justice League (International) #3 still stands out as one of the best comic books of my youth! I must have read this book to death, the artwork by Kevin Maguire & Terry Austin, the story, the dialogue beats out all the high brow books like The Watchmen, The Dark Knight, From Hell and such cause this was the bare bone basic perfect comic book. It was not trying to be something it wasn’t, it just seemed like everyone involved was having a great time making this comic and I always thought that this cover showed that.
As a side note, blog@newsarama has a link to J. M. DeMatteis blog post about his time writing JLI which can be found here (a great read):

I really should be sleeping but since I am on the phone booking a hotel, here is this…

How is Ambush Bug: Year None #3 not a good cover? No, I got no answer to this, I really don’t know what could be wrong about this cover? It is just great and one reason I would snag it off the shelves so fast it would make yer head spin!
Oh and Keith Giffen talks AB:YN on CBR here:

Okay I haven’t put up a Cover Addiction in a while and this one wins! Great cover for Cat Staggs 2008 sketchbook cover (which is taking pre-orders and will be sold at Comic Con — YES! I am getting one!). Great cover of Dr. Girlfriend & The Monarch (from The Venture Bros.) which obviously was inspired by the famous Janet Jackson Rolling Stone cover.

Why do I love this cover for Guardians of the Galaxy #5? It’s a nice twist on the heroic pose #654 and from seeing the cover, I have a good idea of what will be happening inside the book which is important these days. I also love the Skrully background and the ground the Guardians are on is also the Skrulls fingers! Best cover from this weeks Marvel Solits!

Update: Joshua Middleton has done this wonderful art which I hope it is going to be a cover (or page?) ’cause WOW, its good. This will likely be a cover for Justice League of America as Kevin Melrose from blog@newsarama pointed out and not a mini-series as I had hoped (and first announced). I would prefer a mini by Middleton but I will take what I can get…
Joshua Middleton is going to be doing a Vixen mini-series and this is an amazing cover (or page?) and WOW. It is nice to see Vixen of the Justice League of America get her own series!

Yet another Buffy issue #16 makes BtS Cover Addiction for this week but I mean… when else would you see Buffy and Fray together?! This is a nice painted cover by Jo Chen! Snagged here from Blog@Newsarama.com:

Great painted cover by Jon Foster. The cover has Dawn (I think?!), Buffy’s sister, storming through Tokyo as she is a giant in the current run/season on the book. The upcoming story has Buffy and the Scoobies off in a new adventure. This is an amazing cover that would also make for a great painting in my bat-cave! Check out Jon Foster’s great work on his website here:

This was snagged from the Dark Horse May solits here:

This is not the best cover ever but it is very clever and a nice change up on the heroes posing. It does imply that The Order will be dealing with Namor which is always entertaining. I also like seeing the Golden Gate bridge in the background. Again a nice change of pace to the typical hero posing covers this title has had since issue #1.
My only twist is that Barry Kitson is getting that similar look and feel for all his heroes. This could easily be another Legion cover against another Legion baddie.
