Best Bang Reborn #13 for Oct 8th Comics

Best Bang Reborn #13 for Oct 8th Comics

After a big Canuck Thanksgiving weekend, here is this weeks Best Bang Reborn all in alphabetical order, the few books that I got this week from Port Moody’s Hourglass Comics & Toys. Thanks to Chris Nolan’s Comic Books Beta for artwork and info, you can find that here:

Bomb Queen V #4 of 6 (Image)
Great great book. I love how this book is on the bleeding edge of being too risky but still has a nice mix of madness, action and fun. I look forward to seeing what Bomb Queen does to defeat the boycott by Littleville.
5 - Best Bang Reborn: A Great issue!

Detective Comics #849 (DC Comics)
Okay so Hush is going to kill Batman, become Bruce and then also kill Catwoman. So does that mean that the Bruce in Batman RIP is really Hush? It is hard to get into this book when you wonder if it means anything in comparison to Batman RIP. Solid artwork and the story is good but as I said, does it matter?
3 - Best Bang Reborn: Decent issue!

Deadpool #3

Deadpool #3 (Marvel)
The way Deadpool sees Nick Fury made this book for me, after the first few pages, I was hooked. Daniel Way has the pulse on Wade Wilson and I look forward to what happens next for the Merc with a Mouth!
5 - Best Bang Reborn: A Great issue!

Emiko Superstar TPB (Minx)
BEST BOOK of the WEEK! A great story about a young girl who gets involved in some subculture scene and comes out with her own individuality. Very fun book with wonderful artwork by great local artist Steve Rolston! It is too bad that the Minx books have been canceled by DC Comics!
5 - Best Bang Reborn: A Great issue!

Final Crisis: Revelations #3

Final Crisis: Revelations #3
of 5 (DC Comics)
Vandal Savage becomes Caine. The Question is saved from death. Mercy and The Spectre are attacked and speared ala Libra & Martian Manhunter, Caine takes out The Spectre. *yawn* Wake me when this series is over ’cause man it is doing nothing for me.
3 - Best Bang Reborn: Decent issue!
Gen13 #23 (Wildstorm)
As fun as this title used to be, now it seems like it is grasping at straws to be funny and hip. The story is not really moving along ’cause I don’t think they have a really point/plot for the characters, they seem to be just stumbling through the new world of Wildstorm. *Yawn* Nice artwork but that was about it.
2 - Not worth the money!

Green Lantern Corps #29 (DC Comics)
Guy Gardner & Ice, Kyle and the rest of the rookies. The mystery behind the deaths of the rookie families comes to light. Very very enjoyable book, I look forward to the Red/Anger/Purple/Love Lanterns storyline that seems to be brewing.
5 - Best Bang Reborn: A Great issue!
Green Arrow/Black Canary #13 (DC Comics)
The Mia storyline did nothing for me but I read this book for the Green Arrow / Black Canary bits. So is Conner really Conner Hawke? Will Mia get lucky? Will Ollie kill the brit for having sex with Mia?
4 - Best Bang Reborn: Good issue!

Secret Invasion: Inhumans #3 of 4 (Marvel)
As much as I enjoyed this issue, I also found that it seemed like it was a touch long for me. Instead of banding together with Ronan of the Kree, the Inhumans need to scout out in the Universe to find the keys to defeating the Skrulls. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
4 - Best Bang Reborn: Good issue!

Secret Six #2

Secret Six #2 (DC Comics)
I thought the face off between Catman and Batman was alright, I preferred the team breakout from the rest of the team. I still found that the all the b-list to z-list villains being told to hunt down and kill the Secret Six by the Gimp Mobster from the West was a bit so-so. I wanted to see some of the villains bring in Salvation Run by saying, “Yeah, you know, I ain’t going to kill Vandal Savage’s little girl. That’s just insane!” or “Sure, I hate that Bane guy. Remember the Hell Planet where he was Lex Luthors little puppet?” or “You know what? I am good. I have nothing against Catman plus the pay on this is sh**t!”
3 - Best Bang Reborn: Decent issue!

The Twelve #8 of 12 (Marvel)
I am pretty much done on this series, I found this issue to be pretty boring even after re-reading it a few times. I know the story has picked up but something has put me off the book, I don’t know if it is the pacing or dialogue but something has done it for me. Perhaps the characters, I went from enjoying them to tuning them out.
2 - Not worth the money!

Young Avengers: Presents
TPB (Marvel)
I enjoyed only 2 of the stories out of the bunch. This was good but made me wonder why Marvel ain’t pushing this as a full series, I wonder how well the sales went on this mini-series.
3 - Best Bang Reborn: Decent issue!

Young Liars #8 (Vertigo)
I love this crazy book from the alien spiders to the crazy adventures that these characters get into, I look forward to seeing how bizarre and fun this book is going to be as it seems headed towards some kinda climax.
4 - Best Bang Reborn: Good issue!

  1. Thanks for the kind words in regard to Bomb Queen.
I was gambling with adding Dee Rail and Littleville to the story, so often my readers just want sex and blood from cover to cover. Striking the balance was a trick I hoped to pull off. Thanks for noticing that.

Yer weclome, any time I can pimp out Bomb Queen on my site, I will! I love the series, please don’t stop!
