UPDATED: Alright. Enough of me trying to do too many things at once anymore. BtS may have limited future posts due to my work schedule, I will see how I can keep up. As William mentioned — I needed to annotate this post which I just rushed through and spat out. I have revised, please read on…

Congrats to Jason Cook who’s Z2H online comic Blake Undying won the Harold Greenberg Fund sceenplay development. I should have mentioned this sooner that the four finalists had been selected and Abigail’s War one of the final four finalists. Sadly Abigail’s War did not win but it is noted that the Harold Greenberg Fund hopes to be working with the finalists in some way which is great news! Congrats to everyone involved, especially Jennica Harper who wrote (what I thought should have been the winner but I am biased, it wasn’t a SUPER HERO story) a kick ass comic book!
So the big question is What is Next for Zeros 2 Heroes and the Comic Creation Nation? Hmm? Will we ever see Abigail’s War #2, Gustav Hayes #2 or Blake Undying #2?

Great job by everyone involved! Congrats again Jason Cook!
UPDATE: My bad for spelling Jason Blake and not Jason Cook. I have revised, sorry all. I shouldn’t be making posts and rushing around with my laptop barely open.

Is it me or are the Marvel and DC Solits this month kinda late (or maybe I missed them), either way here are the Image Comics & Top Cow Productions Solits for January 2009 on CBR:

Manhunter ends at issue #38
I was talking about this with William this week but is this a sign of things to come given the whole economic crisis the world is said to be heading into? I hope not but I am not surprised to hear this – Manhunter will end at issue #38. Confirmations here on Newsarama:

It makes me think that perhaps the selling count for books just moved up the bar quite a bit and this is one of many books ending announcements that we will likely be hearing. This is good and bad, the bad is books like Manhunter end while books like New Avengers will keep being published without actually having the Avengers in them (not I won’t give up on that bone). I worry for some books like Young Liars, Simon Dark, Birds of Prey and perhaps even Guardians of the Galaxy. The good side to this would mean that both Marvel and DC won’t be filling the shelves with crap and perhaps trimming down books and putting out good stories than all the junk that is on the stands right now. Now as much as I would like to see more good story books and less bad tasting popcorn crap, I am NEVER a fan of a book being canceled. Ever!
I was hoping that the current story Manhunter would end and I could get into the next story, which seemed to be slowly being seeded in the backstory of the latest issues but sadly no. I am surprised that the book did not return with a full hero line-up of guest stars to help push the book more. I think that was great but sadly I could not get into the return story. I hope Marc Andreyko gets/has another gig soon!

This is just for William S today. Crank up the tunes and sing along. I love the shot of the guys dressed up as Skrulls, looks like that was from Emerald Con Mondo Marvel panel I went to (or it looks like the guys from Emerald Con) which is kinda kewl.

Oh look, another Avengers comic that doesn’t have the Avengers in it (unless Tony Stark in S.H.I.E.L.D. gear counts) also I love how Bendis! shows his issues with women — this time Madame Masque is the unfortunate victim. *yawn* I wonder if I should make a new category called “Women in Refrigerators” for all upcoming Bendis! books?

I may torrent this book when it comes out but I ain’t paying a lick to fuel Marvel’s hate on women! No smoking allowed in any Marvel book but hey go ahead and ragdoll any women you like in a Marvel book. *le sigh*

I wanted to pimp out some of Mike Haynes Panels of Awesome t-shirts. Check them out and order some, they are soft! I am awaiting some of those extra large double ehx comic book guy size shirts for us big boys!
Also Mike got me all jealous when he said that he got one of these…
