Not to sound insensitive, but considering how much of a given that was, seeing it in text on the screen well after the credits began rolling nothing worth sticking around for really. You're allowed to be in a shit mood man, it happens to the best of us. And me! ;) It does seem to be a very common misconception that hes dead at the end of the movie. I can't help but wonder if that was intentional? There is a brief tribute to Ledger in the way of “this movie dedicated to” in text on the screen.

No one dies in comics but for the movie itself, the fact that the best character (sorry the Joker was good but he had to be, right?) "dies" in the end was B L A H! Again.
