Z2H CCN Week 9 Winner – William Gibson for ALMA: Jumbo the Elephant Chapter One

Congrats to William Gibson for being selected to be the next comic in the Comic Creation Nation by Zeros 2 Heroes. This is a great pitch with a fairly original concept. Good Gothic, Edwardian Lovecraft-like story which has a good deal of potential! This is a good I look forward to seeing get done and wish I was working with William Gibson to make happen (I’m not) so take a look and check out the Z2H blog for more info in the weeks to come!

Oh good. I’m happy to see that this one made it. As pitches go it doesn’t seem like a good one. The Greeks apparently listed the 27(?) stories that will ever be told. Everything can be broken down to eventually match one of these archetype stories. Knowing that isn’t a blessing it leads to a cretin type of cynicism where you can’t help but spot where one story mimics another. There’s some of that here, but the potential as you say for what this property could become with a few follow up stories is mind boggling.
