Okay I am not entirely sold on these shots. Rorschach looks great, The Comedian is good, Silk Spectres II is okay, Nite Owl looks like Batman on ‘roids in a bad way and Ozymandias looks TERRIBLE! I am now very worried about this film. Very! You can see the shots bigger here:

One year to Midnight and the heart of the revitalization of mainstream comics is about to be snuffed out in its sleep by this film, I think.

I agree with you about Ozymandias, for the most part, but his costume in the comics was probably the most dated of all of the characters; it almost HAD to be updated a bit.

As for Nite Owl, I’m hoping it’s just the lighting of that particular shot since the more I look at it, the more that midsection looks more pudgy than muscled. I liken it to my physique – at first glance, I look kind of buff, but I actually have a spare tire and carry about 10-20 pounds of extra weight, mostly on my torso.

I think they look great. Rorschach is awesome, like you said, but the others are pretty solid in my opinion too.

Comedian’s my favorite. Ozymandias bothers me but the old costume would have looked even worse in reality I think. Nite Owl I think fits the character well with this design even if it is modernized a touch too aggressively. I think generally, all the designs fit the spirit of the characters, without using some of the costumes that would be either impossible or totally lame on screen.
